Why is there no ultrasn0w unlock for newer iP4 basebands?
Is the dev team even working on unlocking higher firmwares then 01.59.00?
I don't want to use the gevey sim card because it involves cutting my sim card which I've already done to fit it to the micro sim card slot but I can't cut it any smaller for the gevey sim other wise it will damage the board.

Unfortunately I dont see an unlock coming out for any other basebands. Its just one of those things where they either couldnt figure it out or just got too overwhelmed with other projects. Turbo sim is the only way to go at this point beyond the 1.59 bb.

If you know of any working exploits or vulnerabilities in newer basebands, please tell devteam about them. I'm sure they'd love to hear from you.
If you don't have any working exploits (or even theoretical ones) then you can always go looking for them yourself. If you don't have the ability to do that, then you can wait.
If you can't wait, I guess you've just run out of options.MMi Site Search Bookmarklet

Now now, let's cut the OP a break
it's a commonly asked question yes, but we can give a commonly given answer: there hasn't been progress on unlocks for quite some time. If it is vitally necessary you should get the Gevey SIM or switch to official carrier. The devs work for free, there shouldn't be an expectation for anything really. It will come if it comes, when is unknown, and that's a part of our jailbreak lives

Or even better you can buy a factory unlocked iPhone from Apple. They started selling them unlock now-a-days.

no new unlock...sad
I one believe they do not even care anymore about unlocks. We are waiting for nothing, no new unlock will be released from what I believe.
I shall never rely again on dev-team when it comes to unlocking.
If they can't do it at least should say so, people are waiting for news about this and they are keep telling cheap jokes.

@mmuntean, with all due respect, the devs aren't obligated to tend to your demands. I won't get in depth but the outlook you have on this is disrespectful and ungrateful. If one cannot match the work of the devs, and one is simply sitting and waiting for such to be handed to him, then one should not complain nor disrespect.
I highly disagree with people who speak so poorly of the devs, I mean no offense however I did want to point out that you should understand and not expect things to be given to you and when they're not, you shouldn't badmouth the devs.

And now it's almost pointless with apple selling factory unlocked phones. Lol

Oh but that's so true haha. It's great actually, for travel. Gonna pick one up for myself when I am about to visit Taiwan.

I don't really see it as pointless, factory unlocked phones are $650. Off contract locked iPhones are $200-300 cheaper.
However, it's quite clear the dev team is stumped, maybe even to the point of being demotivated and not caring about it any more. What they've already accomplished for the community is impressive and we should be thankful for that. They don't owe us an unlock, they are volunteers, working for free. I can't believe the level of entitlement of some people, who think people who are volunteering their own time and effort owe us anything. IMO, unless the dev team is on your payroll, you have no right to complain. Anyone who thinks they are smarter than the devs, go prove it by writing your own unlock!

That's true to an extent, yes you could get a $400 iPhone 4 (likely used) and software unlock it. Or you could save up an extra $200-$250 to buy a factory unlocked and never worry about the headache of preserving your baseband or "accidental" upgrading.
I would save the extra money to buy a factory unlocked, I switched to official carrier to get away from all this software unlocking. So when I travel, I'd invest in a factory unlocked so I can upgrade as I please and still be able to use whatever carrier I want in whatever country I am in.

Personally I blame all the new Modern Warfare games that keep coming out back to back to back.....with Halo 4 around the corner the unlock will never come!!!!

Much love to dev team....hope they get a chance to focus on the unlock at some point. Looking forward to Sprint getting some version of iphone as well
