how to unlock 05.16.02

ive already hacktivated my iphone with snowbreeze, im wanting to know how to unlock my phone to all networks/carriers.

ive heard that the ipad baseband kills gps can i still get reception though?

Yes you still get reception with the ipad baseband. That is the only way to unlock your iPhone right now (unless your carrier will unlock it for you. You will lose GPS but if you dont use anything like Tom Tom then it isnt a huge deal. There is no going back if you do though.

ipad baseband is the only way to go from this point on. It breaks gps but other then that I havent really seen any other major issues with unlocking this way.

Yes, you can just run redsnow on top of the snowbreeze jailbreak. Just choose to install the ipad baseband. You dont need to install cydia again.

my chinese boss unlocked a couple of his iphones by getting the back taken off and having the internal chips modified.
If we upgrade to the ipad firmware for now but in the future want GPS back, then after perhaps this more hands-on method may work?

- Unlocked forever

Cons:
- Voids the warranty
- Can't Restore to Stock Firmware (ONLY CUSTOM FIRMWARE)
- You lose your GPS

Yes It will kill your GPS like I said. Hopefully the Dev team will fix this someday. You will get reception after installing ultrasn0w because the 06.15.00 Baseband is fully unlockable.

If you know how to work with chips on boards then you can swap the baseband chip, but I don't know where you can even a Baseband chip.

There is a hardware based method of downgrading the baseband I believe. That should fix gps if you used someone who knows how to do that to downgrade your baseband.
