Default iPhone 3GS on iOS 3.0 - battery drain with ultrasn0w

    Dear all,

I need some assistance regarding a battery drain problem with an iPhone 3GS running on iOS 3.0. I know this is a bit old, but I can't seem to find any answers while I was searching.

I jailbroke (?) the phone using redsn0w, then I downloaded ultrasn0w from Cydia. If there's no SIM card inserted, the battery lasts a long time. However, once there is a SIM card inside, the phone works properly (unlocked and all) but the battery gets drained really fast.

Any solutions to this please? I do not want to restore the phone as new, as it is not mine...I'm just doing this for a friend.

    Thanks a lot!

If you have shsh blob for 3.0 or use ifaith to back up your shsh blob, do a restore to 3.0 again , jailbreak with Redsn0w 0.8 and setup as new iphone , unlock again with Ultrasn0w will usually fix your battery drain.

May I ask, is there a way to fix this without restoring? This phone is synced to another computer, thus all the data (contacts, etc.) on it is not on my computer.

I guess not, restoring is the way to eliminate battery drain if this is the issue. Why don't you sync your contacts with the computer you are going to use.
