3G being a right pita.

I'm sorry if this is a really stupid thread, but I've been trying to unlock this phone for about a week now and still no joy.

It's a 3G with 4.2.1 and 5.15.04 baseband, I think my bootloader is version 6.4.

Basically, i've tried sn0wbreeze 2.2.1, redsn0w and also somehting called whited00r. I was getting 1600 errors, now I'm getting 1604 errors.


I can install the proper 4.2.1 from apple, but not any of the custom ones.

I'm trying to unlock it so I can use it on Tesco PAYG sim.


iREB doesn't seem to do the trick. tried different cable, different PC. I'm at my wit's end!

am I better off just mullering it with a lumphammer?

no worries! managed to sort it! had to downgrade to 4.1, then redsn0w to add iPad BB and cydia to add ultrasn0w for unlock.
