iphone 2g hacked with Spirit - att sim not working in phone

I have a 2g iphone jailbroken using Spirit since the home button is broke. I had to activate in itunes with a now disabled simcard to get to the menu. I installed an existing activated att sim card in the phone and it goes to the emergency only screen again. What else can I do to get my phone to work?

Restore it and activate it with the active ATT sim that you have.

activate it through itunes? I don't want to pay the data fees. I had another 2g phone hacked with red snow and I put his sim from a regular att phone in it and it worked fine - then it was stolen.

You can try installing hactivation patch from cydia.pushfix.info repo.
