Actually I was using the 3gs with 4.1 unlocked but I got a 4g for myself & decided to give 3gs to my wife... so I pressed erase all data...but phone got stuck... then I by mistake upgraded to 4.33 not realizing it had no unlock...
Now I have downgraded to 4.1 again & jailbroken it, but when I unlock it like last time with ultrasnow it keeps searching, please advice what to do ? Thanks.
+1. You'll have to sacrifice GPS to unlock it again because you upgraded it to 4.3.3, you've upgraded the baseband to an non-unlockable state (which cannot be downgraded either).
Thanks, but I reinstalled 4.3.3 IOS & trying to JB it with Redsnow win_0.9.6rc16, but it says "downloading Ipad files" & then after a minute or so shuts down (redsnow) !
I tried a few times & also tried with win_0.9.6rc15, no luck !
Anyhow be sure that when you're doing the baseband update to do just that alone, don't try to install Cydia with it. You'll want to do those things in two separate steps.
i was on 4.1 then i did a restore. Now i am on 4.2.1. Open redsnow again and select only install cydia and still get stuck at reboot stage. Try to install ipad bb alone stuck again . I am running redsnow in xp compability mode and administrator
after redsnow problem, tried it with snowbreeze 2.7, it was going good but in the end itunes said some error & phone was black screen, dint even reboot... then fixed it with fixrecovery, dint work, finally updated the original 4.3.3 instead & as it finished & I booted it was not jailbroken & unlocked but forecast showed me that earlier install had upgraded the baseband...
So now it was easy with red snow & then ultrasnow... for the 1st time I used these many software's for 1 upgrade, lol
Sometimes it just happens this way. I've done like 50 restores or upgrades on multiple different phones and I always get those once in a while that I have to spend 3 hours on because nothing is working for some weird reason.
Hopefully your next attempt in the future won't be so difficult
The best I can tell you is to just try again from the beginning. You could try using a custom fw, after you do that you can run redsn0w to install just the baseband upgrade part.
