Need help activating factory unlocked phone.
Hey guys,
my friend is having an issue with his iphone4. Around 1 week back he sent in his old iphone for repair and apple contacted him informing that they could not fix the problem (something to do with hardware i think) and wil be sending him a new refurbished one. So he got the iphone yesterday and put in his tmobile sim (got the 1 bar) and opened up itunes, however itunes is saying that the current carrier is not supported with his iphone. So he tried his O2 sim too however itunes was saying the same thing.
Now he purchased a factory unlocked iphone but we are speculating that apple may have sent him back a contract locked iphone. Is there anything we can do ourselves before getting in contact with apple.
Thanks

Contact Apple - An unlocked phone does not require activation.
Do hope that helps

+1. if it's factory unlocked iTunes wouldn't have any problem with the phone. They sent him a locked one. Tell Apple to send him another that's factory unlocked.
