It seems to me like they've dropped the idea of ever trying to unlock those basebands. The downgrade from 6.15 seems to be dead in the water too.
I know they don't owe us anything and they do this out of the goodness of their heart, but unfortunately a lot of people are "stuck" now on either an unlockable BB or the iPad 6.15 BB. And it's been that way for many months now.

Hm yes. And unfortunately because they aren't obligated to finalize things and catch a deadline, it might be time for people to either switch to another phone on their carrier or go to official iPhone carriers. If neither is an option, then the waiting game continues.
That's life I switched to official carrier for this exact reason. I was tired of unlocking and scared that if a mistake of upgrading the bb occurred and the devs get stumped at one point that I will no longer be able to unlock and have to find another phone. I took the easy way out.

I think people also lose sight of who the real culprit is here: Apple. Every other phone is simple to unlock, and the US Government even declared that's it's 100% legal to unlock your phone, but Apple still plays games and makes it nearly impossible to do.
I bought my iPhone outright. I didn't sign a 2-year contract and get a discount on the price. I own the phone, so why shouldn't I be able to unlock it if I want?
It's very frustrating.
Why does Apple care anymore?

Apple doesn't care its AT&T and all the other carriers
