How to figure out how an iPhone 4 was unlocked?

I am looking to buy an iPhone 4...

But I really do not want one that was unlocked using grevy sim or any hardware changes.

I would want it to be factory unlocked... is there anyway to determine this?

someone has one they are selling and the baseband is 03.10.01

but he is not sure how it's unlocked....

unless you have the phone in hand. its hard to tell. if you have access to the phone, you can simply put in a T-mobile sim card (pay as you go) and if its unlocked, you should be able to make calls. another way is to do an update with itunes, you'll see the "Congratulations your iphone is unlocked" if its legit.
