Unlocking an already jailbroken 3gs on 5.16.02
Hey there
I recently purchased an already untethered jailbroken 3gs
Version: 4.3.1
Modem Firmware: 5.16.02
So I already have cydia.
My question is what to do now to unlock? I know that i need to upgrade to 6.15.00 to whoever has 5.16.02 but Im already jailbroken so do I have to jailbreak again and update to 6.15.00 and then unlock or what?
Thank u

Just download redsn0w and install the ipad baseband. ultrasn0w from cydia after that
no need to re-jailbreak.
It only takes a few seconds, but if I helped you, say thanks!

Ok man now Im kind of a beginner so excuse me.
I found those steps on the net:
This is the Windows version of the iOS 4.3.1 Jailbreak. Here is how to start:
1. Download iOS 4.3.1 and Redsnow 0.9.6 RC9 from links given above and paste them in same folder.
2. Restore/Update your device to iOS 4.3.1.
3. Start Redsnow 0.9.6 RC9 and click on Browse button to locate the firmware.
4. It will process the firmware and once its complete, it will show you window something like the one shown below.
5. Click Next and it will start patching the kernel and prepare jailbreak.
6. Now, check Install Cydia and click Next.
7. It will ask you to connect your device and turn it off. Once its done, click Next
8. Now, it will ask you to put your device into DFU Mode by following the instructions on the screen.
9. Now, redsnow will complete the rest of the process. Once its complete, your iPhone will restart automatically. and thats how you Unlock iOS 4.3.1 with the Untethered Jailbreak From RedSnow 0.9.6.
What do I do and what do I skip?
Im kind of a "steps" guy.
I already have cydia, Im already on 4.3.1, I do have the 4.3.1 firmware and Redsnow 0.9.6rc9 on my PC.
Thank u

if you already have Cydia installed then:
Last step – unlock using ultrasn0w 1.2
Launch Cydia from Springboard (home menu)
Search for ultrasn0w on Packages in Cydia. If you cannot find it, add new sources by typing ultrasn0w repo: repo666.ultrasn0w.com (with zero, not o)
Install Ultrasnow
Reboot your iPhone

Those steps never said anything about the iPad Baseband. That needs to be checked too

@ daytonaviolet: As simple as that? Even though my firmware is 5.16.02 I simply open ultrasnow and unlock?
