iPhone 3G - Activation?

Hey,

I was wondering if it was still possible to activate an iPhone 3G, Baseband 05.15.04, Bootloader 6.2, Firmware 4.1.2 using a phone book sim? Or would a software out there be able to do it?

Help would be appreciated, thanks will be given.

I used redsn0w, but it's still stuck on the slide screen SOS calls only.

Ok, it's gone past the unlocked screen but wifi isn't working anymore :S

Do you know if the wifi was working before, I should say.

I'd probably recommend to restore and rejb.

No it wasn't working before, it's unable to search for the network.

I manually put the ultrasn0w files into the iPhone 3G using a tutorial to unlock it. Any tips? Maybe I downloaded the old ultrasn0w?

Your baseband isn't unlockable. With redsn0w you'd want to select the iPad baseband upgrade for ultrasn0w to work.

Your wifi I guess is broken then.

You'll also break the GPS by using the iPad baseband. But some people don't care about GPS so consider that if you're thinking about using it to unlock

ihave iphone 3G 4.2.1os bb 6.15 jailbroken & unlocked.once every 4 days it locks up.unable to make outgoing calls.says call failed. iam able send& recv, messages and also recv calls access internet etc.
i tried time & date settings set auto/manual settings airplane mode om/off etc every time it locked and was successful.but from yesterday it just does not budge.
i tried reinstalling unlocking software but it remains the same.
can somone help me out ??

What's the GPS related to? Also, Which ipsw file do I choose on redsn0w? The one I currently have and then it'll have an option for iPad baseband upgrade?

P.S. If for example I sent the iPhone abroad, would it be able to work there without any unlock etc? Let's say for instance India, or even Pakistan.
