How to set up FaceTime after WirelessFreedom615's IMEI Official UNLOCK

Hey ya'll,
If you have had WirelessFreedom615 do your unlock, I will continue his standard of support with one on one support should you need it. Only if you have gone through WirelessFreedom615 though. I am just continuing support for him.


ALL CREDIT GOES TO THE MASTERMIND PUSHFIX!

• 1st things first make sure you have de-hacktivated through SAM and backed up your Activation
• Next- Uninstall SAM and install MiTime.
• After installing MiTime you will see that FaceTime couldn't be activated and Push isn't working. it will tell you you have "certs" in common with X number of others
• If you are with T-mobile, call and make sure your international SMS is not blocked. Standard Text Packages don't have international text enabled. Also, if you have ever had your carrier block text services (like the ones that charge ten dollars to your bill and ask you to reply for a chance to win a yacht or some scam) You will need to unblock those text services. At least durring this install process.
• Now, in MiTime copy down the repo for Push Doctor. It will give it to you. It is the longer address, not the pushfix.info address.
• Download Push Doctor, it may tell you you have more "certs" in common than before, that's ok. If it doesnt, and everythign is cool, then great, you can skip the next part about PushFix 2.0
• If Push Doctor doesnt get you to the activation screen, then you need to now go to pushfix.info or mitime.info and download pushfix 2.0
• If you try to download pushfix 2.0 from cydia without buying it from the site first, it will NOT WORK. You can not get out of it, don't be cheap! It's FACETIME PEOPLE!
• Run pushfix. when it tells you push is now working properly. Go back to MiTime.
• MiTime may tell you your phone number is unknown. Click change, then touch the word "unknown"
• Type in your number. If you are in the U.S. you will need to put a "+1"before your 10 digit number. No dashes or dots or anythign.
• Now hit "change" to save the change. then hit done
• Now you will be back at the main screen. Push "test"
• You will recieve a code, or identification number for purchasing MiTime.
• Take that code and go to mitime.info and put the code in and purchase mitime.
• Go back to mitime app and start it up again. You should then be connected. The activation process is usually better in the morning and can take a half hour or more sometimes. YOU MUST PAY FOR THESE THINGS. all in all you MIGHT spend $14, ITS FACETIME THOUGH!
• I am not a pro at writing guides, obviously. This is a rough guide. if you need help, message me. ALL OF THIS INFO is also on pushfix.info, and can be found throughout the trouble shooting sections of mitime.info. I can help you manage your way through it.
• Oh, Make sure you have internet connection whilst you do this.
• PushFix is on Twitter, before you go asking him to walk you through it, check with me, he did a great job of explaining it, and as someone who has annoyed him with ignorance and stupid questions before, try to figure things out before tweeting 213 tweets to Devs lol

I believe it can be done without MiTime. I've seen it somewhere on a forum, perhaps here. If I can find it I'll post it. The gist of it was downloading a few things from Cydia and tricking the phone into a facetime call which then activates it. I can't remember :/

It will work, however if the carrier is an unspported one (T-Mobile in the USA) then you must use a work around in the USA to activate facetime

Bingo. MMS was not working initially. After the facetime stuff I tried to load the Tmobile bundles in but that didnt do anythign either. So I downloaded the MMS fix from cydia, still didnt work. All of a sudden this morning it was working... I dunno, luck?

Seems like the biggest issue is a working Push. That is the second thing (after any SIM) I make working before anything else.

The one thing I might add ..... when the phone is factory unlocked, Push is also officially authorized. In the past, several issues have occurred with push, 99% of them are because of 'hactivation'. Factory unlock is official activation. The most common solutions are to download a Push app from Apple (I use Y! Messenger or iPusher -- both free). Execute, the phone will ask if you want to enable push, say yes. If it works, good. If not, then reconnect to iTunes and do something, like a sync. Push should work 'out of the box' with a factory unlock. Recycling power between these steps doesn't hurt either

Thanks buddy, however, I tried several things and none of it worked, again maybe because of the Hacktivation with Pwnage tool, however I think it's more about the JB than it is the unlock, because Facetime will NOT work and neither will Push if your jailbroken with imei unlock, we tried different phones with different firmware. AGAIN, this is only for pwnage and sn0wbreeze. I havn't tried with redsn0w and I am sure your right.

But truth be told when you do the IMEI unlock, if you go to settings, general, it wont have your number under "my Number" i dont know why, and as long as the phone isn't recognizing the number it wont work either, you need to go in and put in your number with a "+1"

these are my and my friends/families experiences. As Mes has pointed out, if you get it to work otherwise, fantastic! don't mess with it. If it aint broke, dont try to fix it or do anythign different. But if you do have my situations, this will work.

Also, it should be said that you dont HAVE to jailbreak for the imei to work. But it helps so you can back up with SAM

Surely can't be PwnageTool. Because since 3.1.2 days, I've used PwnageTool (without activation checked) ..... and activated with an official AT&T SIM. No problems. Then unlocked w/Ultrasn0w for T-Mobile

Update: However ..... I'm old school. Still using a 3GS. Never had an IP4, Facetime, miTime, or even care about 'em. So this may be a new issue introduced with the new (non-3GS) facetime.

Oh yeah, should have mentioned, if you unclicked hactivate on pwnage tool like Mes said, then your imei unlock will go through fine, but as far as I know and pushfix has made it seem, facetime is not for tmobile sims, i guess, so you will have to use mitime to make it work.

I could be wrong, if you make it work without the above steps... AWESOME! let us know. we'd all like to hear what works!
