Hi guys
I have just got O2 to unlock my Iphone 4 (on 4.0.2)
I want to test to see if it works but the problem is that the phone is already gailbrocken and unofficially unlocked.
Is there a way of just removing the unofficial unlock.
I dont want to restore as i will loose my gailbrake
thanks for any advice in advance

Right just to inform people
Went to O2 web site and started CHAT with online O2 agent
Told them I wanted to Unlock my Iphone
Gave them my O2 phone number and Iphone imei number
after 2 mins they told me my Iphone was unlocked (O2 balance -£15)
Uninstalled Ultrasnow (using cydia) did reboot
Got invalid SIM message (Vodaphone sim)
Connected iphone to PC and started Itunes
Still got invadlid sim message
rebooted Iphone while connected to PC with Itunes running
Still invadlid sim message
Restarted Itunes with Iphone connected and turned on
Still sim failure message
Reset network connections (General settings, Reset, Reset network settings)
Powered Iphone OFF then back ON
SIM registered with service provider (Vodaphone)
Clicked on Iphone in Itunes browser Messeage
"congratulations your iphone is Unlocked" Yipee

did it take you over 24 hours to get it fully unlocked?

where is the chat link?
-

this is not the chat link, but its the link to submit an unlock if your an 02 customer. if you browse around there site, a java pop up window will come up. i have no idea when and how it pops up as i can never initiate it to pop up. perhaps click on refresh a few times?

Contacted the support team and got this email.
Hello Eyyaz
Thanks for your email.
I can unlock your iPhone immediately. There's a charge of £15 for
unlocking it and will be taken off from your credit balance. If you have
less balance, then please Top-Up and keep £15.
Please make sure your iPhone is linked on our network with your number
(0***5 6*6 **0). To do so, you'll need to make an outgoing call by
placing your SIM card in your iPhone. This takes 24 hours, so till then
you'll need to keep the SIM card in your iPhone.
When you've done this and if you agree to the £15 charge, please reply
to my email with the below security info:
- date, amount & method of the last Top-Up
- last four digits of the credit/debit card used to Top-Up.
I'm looking forward to your reply.
Regards
Now i dunno how im going to do this since i have an AT&T locked iphone but my method is going to consist of purchasing a gevey sim, be it real or fake to just temporally unlock my iphone to make some outgoing calls with the o2 sim.
What do you think?

Where would I get an O2 sim at to top up and contact them to unlock? I already have the Gevey sim on my iPhone4 but would love to get it factory unlocked...

interesting idea - I have an att phone I unlocked with ultrasnow now running on telenor in norway - wonder if telenor would do the official unlock for me??? time to send an email!
Update: Telenor said yes, send them my imei. I did but they could not unlock since imei was not in their database. I had a feeling it would be this way

It took about 2 mins to get it unlocked
I think O2 is only Europe

Have been thinking about the same "Gevey + O2 sim" idea. Anyone knows if making a call in U.S. through international roaming would register iphone sim on O2's network database?
Anyone tried it yet?

I just bought a gevey and an o2 prepaid sim. I don't see why it shouldn't work. Here's hoping!
