3G after unlock?

I just need some help..... I have jail break and unlocked my iphone 3gs on 4.3.1 with baseband 06.15.00 and everything is ok. I just wanted to know is it safe now to turn on my 3G I USING A CLARO BR for my service.... I did read that you sould not use your 3G when using T-mobile.....AM I MISS REDING SOMETHING?

Have to leave 3G off. If you turn it on it will not work

I just turned my 3g on and my phone works fine...... They do have the iPhone 3GS in Brazil under the same service provider that I have.. Is that why its working fine?

Certain carriers like T-Mobile run on different frequencies than what the iPhone handles. So for TMo USA having 3G turned on basically cuts off your signal. For carriers that do run on the same frequency requirements as whatever the locked phone is running on, then 3G will work fine.
