I wanted to see if the iPad bb trick will work with this version? I don't know what bb it's on, whatever comes stock with the 3G 4.2.1 Thank you.

what is your baseband?

go to settings > general > about > modem firmware = bb

once you find out your bb, refer to this topic: [How To] Check if you can Unlock

it should answer your q

If you have stock 4.2.1 the baseband isn't unlockable. you can upgrade to the iPad baseband though from 4.2.1. Your title says 4.3.1 though, but even then you can also do it from there. Just note the side effects of using the iPad baseband. Aside from that, redsn0w will do it for ya
