Problems with Gevey Sim

I have just received my gevey sim today, and when I install it I have some problems :/

The first 4 steps goes okay, but when I get to the last where I shall enter flight-mode and then off again, then I receives the sim-failure as I should, but then instead if giving me a signal it gives me yet another "No sim installed" pop up :S

What to do ?

Extra!! - The phone might have other problems, since a friend of mine found it in a cap on the way home from a bar, and when I insert a sim from the same carrier as which was in it when it was found, it gets the carrier name but no bars? Can anybody give me some info on what that means ?

Did you buy the SIM from ebay? or from the Gevey website?

EBay, because the officiel reseller dont ship to Denmark.. But the product looks legit, and there is a note from the officiel reseller..

I just tried to update to a clean 4.3.1 and then try again, but same problem.. All goes well until I get to the last point where it should get signal, instead I get a no sim car installed error

Update: Just tried again, and now I get a "No service" instead :S

In some older sim, Gevey doesn't work. Please ask your phone carrier for a new sim card, usually it's free. Also check out FAQ from Iphone, BlackBerry cell phone repair and parts ApplenBerry ApplenBerry for details installation.

Well my sim is already rather new, max 3months (it is a 128kbit with the small chip).. I'm starting to think that it is not a genuine one, since my accept screen looks different then the one I have seen in all the guides..

The accept screen is not an issue because I bought a gevey sim card from Sunsky and the accept screen is in chinese, but it works fine. Also you may check the sim tray to ensure it's flush and perfectly fit. Have you tried to remove and reinsert the sim tray?

Yea I have, like 100 times It seems to fit okay :S I'm back at square one again - "No sim installed error" when guide is gone through..

My accept screen is also in chinese But the Sim tray is identical to the one which should be counterfeit on the Applenbarry site, but the Gevey Sim it self seems ok :/ it is a little bit strange :S

OKay, I got it to the "No service" point again, and then under Carrier it finds all the different Carriers which is in Denmark ( Telenor DK, Telia DK and TDC Mobil), but still no service.. Maby the iPhone has been blacklisted ?

I got the Gevey sim on Monday as well (Im currently located in DK too). I have the exact same issue as you. Everytime I try I get it to "connect" to my carrier Telenor, but the full bars + carrier name only lasts for 5 seconds or so before it changes to No Service.

Think I have tried it 20 times or so by now. Was on iOS 4.2 jailbroken, upgraded to 4.3 (non jailbroken) and it still behaves the same way.

Wonder if anyone from DK has actually gotten this to work

I have a problem is that just when a call by the contact information or when I have a missed call that shows who is, and when I call the number directly and on the moment when somebody is calling me just identify the number and not the person saved in my contact list. And when I make any call is says "call fowarding is active"... What should I do? What's wrong? And how do I desactivate this message?

hey everyone i've had kind of same problem but not with the reception.after i turn on/off the airplane mode, it gives me "sim failure" pop up but no "no sim card installed" pop up.after few times of trying i finally get it and unlocked my phone.i dont know why this happens.Im from Turkey and the way i unlocked it was different than applenberry.I ddnt wait 45 sec on airplane mode or smth i just turned it on/off. Its just differs i guess.

i had the same problem with my gevey. i could do all the things mentioned in the manual but i could not proceed after "airplane mode on/off" step. all i got is sim failure. i tried 45 seconds wait ON and then OFF. kept my iphone in airplane mode for whole night but nothing worked. finally i took out my sim card while my airplane mode was off.instantaneously i got the message no sim installed. i took out sim for 4-5 mins. and then put it back.okeyd the message of no sim installed. and turned on/off airplane mode. within 5 seconds my phone came to the life. hope it will help somebody who is stuck with the same problem.

Keep turning it on and off till u get a bar and wait
