It looks like the battle to find unlock for the bb 2.10 and 3.10 is not anywhere in the near feature as the dev team just basically couldn't break the ice on this one. Even the main hacker for ultrasn0w has to decided to join aboard for gevey. Via his twitter.

There will always be more baseband version that can be hacked, and if Apple stays with 3.10 and 2.10 for all future devices then they will eventually hack it.
I remember some time back Sherif twitted that he has already hacked this and he will release the solution once 4.3 is out.. Now its there but there is no update on ultrasnow... .
I think what happened was Apple changed something and they weren't expecting it. That and some of the best dev members aren't around like geohot and some other(s) right now. So it has become difficult
