iPhone 3GS 05.16.01 unlock

I have an iPhone 3GS on firmware 4.2.1 and baseband 05.16.01
Need unlock for the baseband but no upgrade to iPad bb.
Kindly suggest a solution

There is no other solution other than the ipad bb or wait it out for a realese

Is there any possibility of downgrading the baseband, I have shshd the firmware 4.1, will downgrading to this also change my bb to th earlier bb, or am I stuck with 05.16.01 bb
