Clean restore on a 3G?
Noob here... been searching the forums for hours and seem to get too many people saying something different?!?! Anyway, I have a 3G running 3.1.2, not JB'd yet and I want to wipe it clean, JB, unlock, and sell it! I would like to keep either 3.1.2 or 3.1.3 as I've heard they are faster the 4.0?!?!
I want to erase all current content, and clean up, but have read that some say don't use the "erase all content and settings" others say yes do, then it may require a restore, but apple isn't signing 3.1.2 anymore, etc...

Thought I read that 3.1.3 was no longer "signed" by apple so I had to get a custom FW?!?!

Then cook one up with Sn0wbreeze or PwnageTool.
