i got my iphone 3gs with firmware 4.3

i downgrade it already to firmware 4.1 but my baseband is still 05.16.01

if u update my firmware to 4.2.1 will the basedband mchange also?

No your baseband will not change unless you update to the ipad baseband with redsn0w 0.9.6rc8, I would not update to the ipad baseband unless you desperately need an unlock, as the ipad baseband will break your gps.
