Can this be a solution or is just another scam. He could have used a factory unlock right ?

I think they should have shown them inserting a sim card (without the turbosim thing) and then the phone shows a "SIM failure" error first...

I'm hopeful, yet I doubt it works...

gevey made a turbo sim for 3g and it worked... i don't think that they would invest in something that would not... imo

Interesting, I used to check out Gevey's website frequently but now I can't find it.

I usually check to see if they have updates but they haven't since the 3.1 days.

So I can't say this is fake or real because Gevey really did work before. Seeing as how this looks real because it is actually a microSIM size, I wouldn't be surprised if it works. But I am still skeptical because the website is no longer available.

I never liked turboSIMs though bc they give poor signal quality and my data would cut off unexpectedly all the time. BUT it might be a good temporary solution for those waiting on an unlock if this happens to be true.

If indeed it does, I would take it, even if it's just temporary.
(or perhaps they can "reverse engineer" it in some way so that we can have a software unlock. Honestly though, I know nothing about how to hack the baseband, etc.

i have read it to. it also speculates that the reason they where holding off is because a free unlock might be released. now that they are mass producing and are now shipping, does this also mean that there is no unlock coming from the dev team anytime soon?

After reading that review, I'm definitely not getting it. $50 for a strange, shady unlock.

For those in the US (including me), this is what's on wikipedia:

112 is being redirected to 911 on GSM mobile phones

Don't want anything to do with that >_>

No that's not how it works. If all Fords are green and you've seen a green car that doesn't mean you've seen a Ford.

Gevey knows as much as we do about the soft unlock from the dev team. They judged it not to be a threat to their product as there's nothing available. That doesn't mean an unlock won't happen from the dev team.

i was saying that they may be speculating that the unlock will take longer than expected. long enough for them to mas produce and market their pruduct. of course, i hope they made the wrong bet

The sim cards real, got one from china and it works fine but for the price I paid it's definite expensive.

Haha Maby musclenerd gave the Chinese company the info to develop the sim to make $$$$
Cant blame if he does, hopefully they lower the price of the sim soon.
