If you are trying to get a ATT sim to activate a US iPhone you can always get one from ebay if you cannot find someone who has one close to you.

Sorry about that x98, question for you in order to complete my activation with JB/unlock.

1)Restore to 3.1.3FW
2)Connect to itunes with ATT sim to activate
3)Jailbreak with ispirit? or what would you recommend?
4)Unlock with Ultrasn0w, then re-insert my fido SIM to solve all my problems hopefully.

Sounds good, I would use jailbreakme.com to jailbreak though, much easier.
