Private partition Full. Please help

I have a 3GS,model:mb715ll,16 gig,4.2.1,bb 6.15,purchased new laptop and had not authorized computer,plugged phone in not realizing I wasn't online,and iTunes killed 72 of my apps,new to jailbreaking,and the only apps I could recover was from **********,so now when I plug phone and iTunes opens I have 6 gigs in"other",and I have only 32 apps on phone,so when I try to install app, I get message that disk space is low and I need to remove photos or videos,not sure how to clean up partition,new to jailbreaking and don't know much,any help would be much appreciated Thanks for your Help

Something that works 50% of the time: uncheck to sync video and music, sync the phone. Then sync it again. Be warned this doesn't work all the time. But if it doesn't the other option is to do a restore/rejailbreak.
