You're sure it is unlocked? What's the baseband?

Did you enter your APN in settings>general>network>cellular data?

Try internet2.voicestream.com for standard APN.
Remove everything else under that category.
In MMS, you might have to use another set of settings. I'll be back to see what I can find.
Ok you've probably tried this already, but review it again.
Fix T-Mobile US MMS Problem on iPhone 4 on iOS 4.0.1 / 4.0 | Redmond Pie
Before doing that, wipe out all your APN settings. Then apply that method above. Reboot. Then insert the standard apn internet2.voicestream.com.
Then reboot, then see if it worked.Last edited by i.Annie; 02-28-2011 at 10:15 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Well sorry bud, not sure what to tell ya besides try a restore and rejb. Even then don't know if that works.
I am going to move your thread over to the unlock section, more traffic there. Maybe someone else who has tmobile can help you. I've been off tmobile for a while now so I haven't been keeping up.

I have an iPhone 4 running 4.2.1 (bb 1.59.00) with T-Mobile US, I know that I am not on same firmware as you but this may help you. It took me about a day to figure out how to get my edge and mms working.
What I did was this, in order
1. Install ifile from cydia
2. In ifile navigate to var/mobile/library/preferences
3. backed up the file “com.apple.mms_override.plist”
4. replaced original file content with this:
(just open up this thread in safari on wifi and copy the above)Code:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>MMS</key> <dict> <key>GroupModeEnabled</key> <false/> <key>MMSC</key> <string>http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc</string> <key>MaxMessageSize</key> <integer>1048576</integer> <key>MaxRecipients</key> <integer>10</integer> <key>MaxVideoBitrate</key> <integer>131072</integer> <key>Proxy</key> <string>216.155.165.50:8080</string> <key>UAProf</key> <string>http://www.apple.com/mms/uaprof.rdf</string> <key>UserAgent</key> <string>SonyEricssonW800i/R1L</string> </dict> </dict> </plist>
5. reboot
6. Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings
7. reboot
8. add this to cellular data network:
Cellular Data:
APN: wap.voicestream.com
Username:
Password:
MMS
APN: wap.voicestream.com
Username:
Password:
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MMS Proxy: 216.155.165.50:8080
MMS Max Message Size: 1048576
MMS UA Prof URL: http://www.apple.com/mms/uaprof.rdf
9. install T-Mobile US MMS Fix for iOS4 from repo (cydia.pushfix.info)
10. reboot
11. working EDGE and MMS (sending/receiving)
I have rebooted multiple times and every time the internet works as well as mms. I hope this helps in some way.Last edited by Diddyo; 02-28-2011 at 11:56 PM.

Maybe you need to update to 4.2.1 or at least 4.1 then. If you don't have SHSHs saved, you'll have to go to 4.2.1 with either a custom firmware or using TinyUmbrella's TSS Server to preserve the baseband.

After installing T-Mobile US MMS Fix for iOS4 and rebooting check to see if cellular data/mms data is still the same. if not fix it and reboot again
