About 3gs

Hello all,
I have a 3gs
version 4.1 (8B117)
firmware 05.14.02

It's jailbroken but locked. I will be deployed soon for my 2nd tour, so I need it to be unlocked for use oversea.
The idetector said I have Old Bootrom.

Can this phone be unlocked and would someone be kind to point me
to the right direction since I am a bit PC challenged here, well, at least in the unlocking phone terminology.

Well that fact that you have old bootrom is good but we need to know your firmware and baseband, but if you post the firmware we can usually guess that baseband.

Well thats the baseband, but the problem is that the only way to unlock your iPhone is to update the baseband to the iPad Baseband.

If this is the only solution, could you point me to a place where I can do this safely? I'm not really good at this.
