Using 6.15.00?
What known side-effects are there, besides the GPS issue, when using the iPad BB? Some people seem to be having issues with it, and I'd like to know what other risks I would be facing. I am thinking of switching to Simple mobile for the $60 unlimited voice, text, and data. I am currently using H20 Wireless with no need for an unlock, but I'd like data on my phone, and if I think the risk is minimal, I will unlock.
My iPhone: 3G 4.2.1 5.15.04 BB
Although not the main topic of my thread, any comments on Simple mobile would be accepted as well
(Good/bad service, etc.)

Two risks,
- There is no solution yet for GPS issues with BB 6.15 and no way to downgrade the BB.
- If your iPhone 3G was still covered under an extended warranty and needed to be replaced; it would be easy for the Apple techs to discover that your iPhone 3G was jailbroken. Thus voiding the warranty.

I am under no warranty, and my H20 service isn't over until next month sometime, so I think I will wait until then to make my decision, but I've read things about people not being able to make and receive calls? Anyone know about this?

Because no iPhone 3G/3GS should be running BB 6.15, since it was only released only for iPads. If your iPhone is still functional, then all an Apple tech would need to do is check your iPhone's firmware version and the modem firmware version in Settings -> General -> About. They would see a firmware baseband mis-match and know the iPhone was jailbroken.

I've already jailbroken my phone, so would I just re-run redsn0w and add the baseband?

I successfully upgraded my BB to 6.15.00. I am currently using H20 wireless with no problems, but I haven't tried GPS. I will be switching to Simple Mobile soon.
Well my GPS is definitely messed up, even my maps is haha. Good thing I don't need it.Last edited by ph3n0m; 03-09-2011 at 11:16 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

It's confirm that BB 06.15 will permanently mess up your GPS?
After I JB & Updated to BB 06.15, I was able to use GPS for about 2 weeks before it act up and not locking GPS signal anymore.
Any one see any way fixing GPS for BB 06.15 or possible downgrade solution yet?
