Hactivation question, getting factory unlock code!

Hey, i have been waiting for bb 02.10.04 since 4 months now..i cant wait anymore..my iphone 4 came from uk and is locked to vodafone.. Now the only option i have here in pakistan is that i have to pay 65 pounds to attain unlock code from vodafone.. Basically they will remove the imei number from apple's server.

Now my question is that if i get my imei number removed and my phone becomes factory unlocked..i will still need to hactivate my phone after jailbreaking 4.2.1? Or factory unlocked phones dnt need to be activated?

Factory unlocked ones will activate with any sim card. No hactivation required.
