Geohot Says He does not Have iPhone 4 Unlock

geohot has confirmed through his official blog that he doesn't have any exploit to unlock iPhone at the moment

I wish I had an iPhone unlock, the simple BB holes appear closed (my fuzzer comes up blank). In fact, I’m still using my 3GS cause I don’t have one :-/

But what about musclenerd and sherif hashim? I guess they are the ones making new unlock and if you read their recent tweets they do have the exploit and almost ready unlock ... Geohot is a part of dev team? I think there is still chances because as i mentioned above there is an unlock promised by devteam members

Geohot isn't a part of dev-team, and is not/doesn't work on an unlock, MuscleNerd does.

So many expect the unlock done over night, if it was that simple we're all can do it. Reverse engineer on something from scatch can take months.

For those are wining, sale your phone so you don't have to keep asking for unlock, wait/ or buy factory unlock than you don't have wining.

If this is true (I thought Geohot made his blog invite only), it doesn't bode well for everyone waiting for an unlock.

Geohot may be more than a little dramatic when it comes to his dealing with the public, but he has always backed up his claims with proof. If you read between the lines, the Dev Team really haven't claimed to have anything other than a baseband crash for 2.10.04. They also haven't said anything about how it's progressing, just that it "is taking more effort though, and no further concrete info is available about that yet" and that it won't be released until "after 4.2.1" and later revised that to "after 4.3".

Notice they have not released anything saying that it works some of the time, or is close to being finished or is in testing. This means either the Dev Team have a really nice surprise waiting after the release of 4.3 or, more likely, the reason why "unlock" has become such a dirty word on their blog lately, is because the baseband crash didn't make a suitable code injection vector and there simply won't be an unlock - at least not from the Dev Team.

So where does Geohot fit in to all this? Well, he's been fairly good at solving things that stumped the Dev Team in the past, both in jailbreaks and unlocks. I really don't think Geohot would let the Dev Team one-up him if he thought he could release an unlock first. Perhaps the Dev Team does have an ace up their sleeve, but more likely - Geohot just called their bluff.

Geohot never said he had an unlock, MuscleNerd did. Get your information straight before posting irrelevant **** that makes no sense.

MuscleNerd + sherif_hashim are the ones releasing the unlock, if you aren't satisfied with that, make your own unlock.These people work hard to bring unlocks to the community, and they aren't being paid. Quit crying and be patient.

Geohot isn't even part of the devteam. The reason the unlock was delayed was because they didn't want the exploit to be patched in newer firmwares and have people complaining about how they upgraded and can't unlock.
