    Default baseband chip replacement possible?

    hey,
    i was wondering if we get the baseband chip replaced.. the baseband can be downgraded or even made factory unlocked.. does anyone of you have any knowledge about this?

    If the question is can you downgrade the baseband, I believe the answer is no. If you're asking about a baseband chip, there isn't one, as far as I know. There's a SIM card...

    No there is a baseband processor chip.. you can also call it modem chip.. which handles calls & data..i guess.. when you goto general > about your baseband firmware is displayed as modem firmware..

    Oh. Well as you can see, I don't have any knowledge on that, considering I didn't even know there was one. Don't worry, there's plenty of people out there that know all there is to know about it. You just have to call them, like this -- HELP!!!!! lol

    I know that I can be done, there is a video on the net somewhere, showing a rather dirty workshop in India, and at chip replacement being performed on a 3G or 3G[s].

    Well guys google Beijing iPhone repair they help replacing your baseband chip but as they mentioned your baseband will be unlock-able then but not factory unlocked I think u better wait I am stocked on same

    Well I have no idea if any one tried or not but yeah they have uploaded iPhone disassembly video on YouTube that you just have to send them the board of the phone and it will get fixed in three working days shipping might differ
