Can someone tell me the best way to clear all my personal data from my iPhone before selling it? I have an unlocked 3GS with 3.1.2 and don't really want to have to jailbreak and unlock again. I could do that but it's been over a year since I did it last and I don't want to screw it up. I advertised on eBay it's unlocked so if I mess it up I stand to lose a lot of money (I have two phones actually). Thanks!
I'm actually looking for this info too, so it would be helpful if someone can answer. For me, I'm trying to sell a 3G, but would like to downgrade from 4.0 to 3.1.3/3.1.2 and unlock it.
Check what shsh you have saved, start tss server, n use iTunes to downgrade or upgrade.. Make sure you hit shift+restore on windows n select your saved firmware..
Look on google there's better write-ups about doing this... Its hard to put it all in writing..
For the 3GS you can only downgrade, or upgrade to whatever shsh you have saved in Cydia... Use tinyumbrella to see what shsh you have it saved for...
As for the 3G, jus download any firmware n I believe you can restore to any firmware..
Make sure tss server is running before you restore, so it'll redirect your hosts file..

Depends if ultrasnow supports it, look at the baseband n see if it supports it, if not then use redsnow to installnthe iPad baseband, which is unlockable..
I did find this thread which has some good suggestions. I ended up creating a new user on my Windows, starting a new iTunes and syncing the iPhone with that account. It talks about it more on the other thread.
