iPhone 4 help

Sooo I have a iPhone 4 with 4.1 fw with 02.10.04 waiting for the unlock would I be able to preserve that baseband so I could upgrade to 4.2.1 been holding off doing it as I want to keep the current jailbreak

Yes use pwnage tool if you have mac or sn0wbreeze on windows and you can preserve the baseband. Additionally if you use tinyumbrella and an iPhone 4 you should be able to upgrade to a new firmware and preserve the bb, although I'd double check some instructions on that.

This is kind of, of topic, but i have the iphone 4 on 4.0.1 and ive jailbroke it through jailbreakme.com and i want openiboot to get android but i cant have because of the way i jailbroke it so i want to rejailbreak it using blackrain
Can i just get blackrain and jailbreak it even though its jailbroke or do i have to update it
Or is there an easier way?

I'd just do a fresh restore, although the Jailbreak forum would probably know better...
