Ok.... This might not be the right place for this but I can't find somewhere more appropriate...so anyway... my apologies to the mods if I started this somewhere wrong.
My now exgirlfriend decided to pull one last thing on me: she locked my iphone with some random 4 digit password. I have tried everything to restore my phone but I cannot because of the passcode lock. I have tried reasoning with her, it was an expensive phone, I cannot buy another, this is ridiculous, etc, but she "does not remember what the pass was".
I tried using iTunes to restore the phone but it wont work. I understand now the only way this would have worked is using the computer with which the phone was originally activated, but this itself is a problem as well-- I sold my old laptop last month (which also happens to be what I activated my phone with T-T)
It is jailbroken with greenpois0n, though I never installed the SSH app so I cannot ssh into it...
What am I supposed to do!? I could care less about having to wipe my phone, I did not have much on it I cannot recover anyway, so please, anything helps.
To summarize, its an iPhone 4, jailbroken with GreenPois0n. My ex locked it and since I cannot get what the passcode is from her I am trying to wipe it or somehow extract the passcode from the phone. If there is any other info I need to give lemme know. Please help? Am I left single AND with completely useless phone?
I think I have already tried to do DFU mode but it did not work.
I turned my phone off, plugged into pc, turned on holding home button till apple logo dissappears and connect to iTunes shows up.
When I try to restore iTunes says the phone is locked and to unlock so it can be restored.
I tried a similar method to this but instead of the connect to itunes message, the screed goes completely black. Same error message.
never seen that message before when trying to restore. DFU is the black screen one where itunes see the phone in recovery. It should work doing it from that.
Ill try again when I get back home from work and post the error message, maybe that will help.
I also noticed my phone spontaneously exits DFU or restore mode while plugged into iTunes mid-restore, after which the password lockscreen shows up, and the restore fails. Is that normal at all?
Thanks for the above posts, any other help greatly appreciated.
