Been a while since I've done this so I need help. Bought an iPhone 3G, firmware is 3.1.2, Baseband is 05.11.07. I want to upgrade to the latest firmware possible (or best suggested) while still keeping my 5.11.07 baseband under all conditions.
If you have a list of steps I could follow please let me know
Some say that 3.1.3 is best for the 3G or you could go to 4.2.1 which is the most current firmware and the last firmware that apple is making for the 3G, its your decision which you want. To update without changing baseband you would want to use sn0wbreeze(windows) or pwnagetool(mac). I can recommend a guide depending on which type of computer you use.
Awesome deal, I'm on Windows XP service packs 2. I reverted back to the 3G because I've always had T-mobile and 3G's have always been easier to unlock. Any guide suggestions?
Ok then you'll want sn0wbreeze. You can find it at iH8sn0w.com but it only supports up to 4.1 fw at the moment. I'm not at my computer at the moment or else I'd give you a link but I used an iclarified guide
Hey! If you are still looking ahead to unlock iPhone 3G then you can rely upon any good and suitable software. Rather I would suggest you to take the suggestion from a technician in case required. But generally many softwares provide an easy to use guide book with their unlock iPhone software.
