Hacktivating, Jailbreaking and Unlocking iPhone 3GS 4.2.1?

Has anyone successfully hacktivated, jailbroken and unlocked an iPhone 3GS with bootloader 6.4 and BB 5.13.04 with 4.2.1?

The other day I spent over 8 hours trying to update my phone creating a custom firmware with PwnageTool (which never worked correctly, either my phone wouldn't go out of DFU mode or I would get stuck on the Apple loading screen), and when it did (once), I wasn't able to hacktivate it.

I believe one of my issues is either the PwnageTool 4.2.1 bundle doesn't work with my phone or I haven't found the correct one. I ended up restoring back to 4.0.1 with limera1n.

Anyone has any ideas or experiences with a same setup as mine? I'd really like to upgrade but not feeling to go over all the trouble I went the other day.

Managed to make the custom firmware 4.2.1. I've installed it and kept old baseband. Also used redsn0w just right now. After installing redsn0w with cydia, the phone rebooted and is now at the apple logo without doing anything.

What should I do?

Yup, right after finishing installing the redsn0w jailbreak.

Ok, you probably hactivated. Just use redsnow again and choose the option to boot tethered.

Or you may just be able to use greenpoison on it now to untether it: GreenPois0n

Would you mind telling me the name of the latest greenpois0n archive for download on their website? I had previously downloaded rc5 b3, but I believe there is already b4 or b5?

I think b4 is the latest. b2 and up should work fine for you.

Do you confirm hacktivation is in it ?

no, hactivation is not in greenpoison. if you need hactivation run redsnow first. Then you can run greenpoison after to untether if you need to.

If i hacktivated my i4 with limera1n in 4.1. Do i have to do it every FW or only once ?

hey guys im new to the site.i've read a lot about unlocking iphones. but this website is great. anyways i have 3Gs 4.2.1. i changed the baseband to 6.15 and i think i unlocked it using redsnow.but now somehow i cant open my phone and check if its unlocked or not.everytime i try to open it it shows the usb cable and nthg else.PLease help. im in need.

You will have to do it again if you restore to 4.2.1

There is no Hactivation in Greenpo1son. The poster here ran Redsn0w to hactivate and then greenpo1son to untether. That works fine.
