i want to upgrade it but i havent seen a clear way to jailbreak and unlock afterwards

specs is iphone 3g version 3.1.2(7d11) modem firmware 05.11.07

yes.. i went to felixbruns and downloaded the iphone 3g 4.2.1 firmware
