Need a lot more info than that. What type of iPhone, what firmware are you on and what is your baseband/modem firmware?

Do not link to sites that charge for a unlock. All unlocks are free.

Well I would like to ask the question validly.
I'm new to the Iphone unlocking thing (been a windows mobile user) and hope to tap the collective wisdom.

I have a 3G that I have figured out how to "downgrade" to 3.1.3 but am stuck (so far) with a 5.15.04 modem.
I can't get the phone to unlock and its driving me nuts.

Can I get a clear breakdown from someone here on a set by step on how/what to do with what I have? I'm no programmer or anything (that's WAY over my head), but I can follow clear direction. I feel like I'm close but am just not getting unlocked.

    TIA

    Chris

Nope nothing on my end. The only number is the post number, maybe something has been removed? There's reference about someone trying to post a "pay" site for unlocking.

    got it, thanks. Now:

I have a "mutt" with 3.1.3 and 5.15.04 and I don't see that in the list, so which route do I have to take to get unlocked? Do I go back to 4.2.1, do I have to "upgrade" to the Ipad modem to make this thing work? Heeeeeelp!

You go back to 4.1 or 4.2.1 and then use redsnow to do the iPad baseband update process. You should first confirm you don't have a 5.8 bootloader iPhone 3G just In case you can downgrade baseband.

I have tried the 6b4 and 6b6 routes and neither worked. Maybe I just have the wrong combination going on?

Looks like you got 5.8 there buddy. That means you can downgrade your baseband. Just go into cydia and install fuzzyband. It will downgrade your baseband for you so that you can unlock again. No iPad baseband required.
