3g 3.1.3 5.12.01 Won't Unlock "no service

I'm having issues all day unlocking a 3g on 3.1.3 baseband 5.12.01. It jailbreaks fine however after installing Ultrasnow and popping in my tmo sim card it give me the vmail alert sound and shows the bars of service but shows that I'm getting no signal. It also wont' say tmobile after about 3 minutes it changes and says no service. I did notice that no matter how i jailbreak (redsnow 9.4, spirit or jailbreakme.com). I get an "ispaziorepo not available" error in Cydia when updating prior to unlock.

Try restoring to a stock 3.1.3. This will update the baseband but the baseband it is updated to is still unlockable.

That might help ultrasn0w to work better. That and you probably need a restore anyway.

Edit: you might wanna try updating in Cydia first before trying what I said above. It might just fix the problem.

Go to Cydia and go to Changes and it should have upgrades for you to do. This will also fix the ispazio problem.

Thank you I have restored several times back to 3.1.3 I downloaded from felixbruins. I assume these are stock firmwares. I also keep getting that Ispazio error when I refresh in cydia under changes.

You should be updating not refreshing. There should be the option to update your Cydia under changes on the top right corner if you're getting ispazio errors.

i.Annie when I load Cydia and tap "Changes" there is no option to update on top right corner. I only have "refresh" at the top left.

could the fact that I'm trying to keep it on 3.1.3 have some impact, what if I restored it to 4.0

No if anything 3.1.3 shouldn't be giving you problems. Have you tried restoring again and doing it over? Be sure to be setting it up as new and not restore from back up.
