iphone 3gs 4.2.1 firmware 6.15 Stuck in restore

Hi All,
Sorry if these problems or part of them have been posted before. I have been unable to work out a solution from other posts..ok i have done the following

itunes10.1.1.4, windows vista home
upgraded 3gs software to 4.2.1
used redsnow 0.9.6b5 to jailbreak, this seemed to work ok with cydia installed.
ran cydia and tried to unlock and since then phone has been stuck on apple or itunes symbol.
i am unable to restore in itunes and if i run redsnow now and point to iPhone2,1_4.2.1_8C148a_Restore, it gets to a certain stage and then gives error 1015, cannot restore. i realise its due to firmware, which i upgraded to without knowing
I NEED HELP pretty bad! also i have read 0.9.6b6 redsnow could fix but i am unable to find download anywhere.

Go check your PM box, when you received it, rename .zip to .ipsw.
Run redsn0w 0.9.6b6 , browse to OFW of 4.2.1, check only the box dfu mode.
Once DFU is done, run itunes > shift + restore to CFW of 4.2.1
If you have the new bootrom, you will end up in recovery mode.
Run tether boot from Redsn0w 0.9.6b6 or RC8.
You will also need to install cydia as this CFW doesn't have Cydia.
Remember , if you have the new bootrom, everytime there is a reboot, you need to run redsn0w again to tether boot.

So what happened to cydia now.

Run redsn0w again and choose install cydia if your cydia keeps crashing.

hey there,
this is where im at at the moment. i can install cydia then boot unthethred and cydia works. when i go to sources and try to install repo666.ultrasnow.com to unlock the phone crashes and goes back to apple logo. i am able to get out of this my going into dfu and restoring from the custom ipsw you gave me...the process basically repeats when i do it again! still cant unlock it and a bit stuck. any ideas much appreciated?

Download Redsn0w 0.9.6b6 and activate iPhone 3G or 3GS on iOS 4.2.1 with SAM
Here buddy - I had the EXACT same issue. But I used b6 and it ran through fine. The download link is where it stipulates to 'click here'. It should be the first link, actually.
The download link will begin automatically!. Hope I helped buddy

My brother reset my unlock iphone 3gs,after that apple logo appeared.Through reading the posts i tried restoring the iphone using redsnow.I used apple company software in the redsnow and got my iphone in dfu mode then i tried to restore in itunes using company software it gave me error msg 1015,i tried the process again using custom software now it gives me error 1600 or 21.do i need to downgrade it to 4.1 or how i need to fix it..Please help me in this regard.its too frustrating.

I had same issue. i can not get out from the restore mode. i have 3gs. when i bought this iphone i had 4.0.2 firmware. i upgrade it to 4.2.1. Using redsnow i changed baseband to 6.15. now my phone is not starting. am unable to restore in itunes. and stuck in restore mode.

Connect it to the cpu then go to itunes click on the ipod on the list thing. Then go to sync

I just ran Redsn0w 0.9.6b6, used cydia to run ultrasnow and it just gets stuck on apple screen.


One thing i failed to do was check "install ipad baseband" when i ran redsnow. WHen should i do that?

I'm having the same problem as the parent thread poster. iPhone 3G and trying to restore to iPhone1,2_4.2.1_8C148_Restore, and it gets to a certain stage and then gives error 1015 and brings me back to recovery mode with the iTunes logo. I was last on iOS 4.2.1. I wonder if this has to do with the iPad baseband part of the jailbreak.

hey guys i kinda figure out how to get out of Stuck mode restore using itunes with the firmware u have on the phone when restoring it hold the home bottom till it boots up

Hey guys, i have jailbroked and unlocked my Iphone 3G bb 5.14.02 with redsnow.
After jailbroking, iphone bb will changed to 6.15 (i.e Ipad bb)and work perfectly.

but due to some reasons my iphone stuck at apple logo after few months. now i am trying to jailbroked again my iphone, remain unsuccesfull, help is needed....
