phone's working fine but itunes isn't activating it

Hey guys,

its me again. i seem to be coming to the forums only when i screw things up with my iphone, which seems to be frequently these days.

bascially the story is that I upgraded my iphone 3gs to ipad baseband and then unlocked it. but obviously like everyone else my gps and push notifications weren't working and battery was draining.

i had some time off today so looked up this SAM thing on internet, which would supposedly fix the battery and push notification issue. So i downloaded SAM from cydia today and followed all the steps with deactivating using redsnow, and then going into SAM settings on my iphone and clicking "revert lockdownd to stock", "clear push sessions", and "deactivate iphone".

then i connected to itunes but it says invalid SIM. so i went back into SAM settings on iphone and manually selected my SIM using country/carrier/SIMID options. But itunes still doesn't recognize/activate my iphone.

i went ahead and unlocked using ultrasnow 1.2. my phone is working. i'm getting the ROGERS SIM with full bars on top and making calls fine. Not sure if battery life has improved at all with this SAM thing. i'll have to leave the phone overnight to find that out.

But any idea how to get itunes to activate/recognize this SIM. coz without this i can't sync.

thanks for the help guys. really appreciate it. i really regret updating to 06.15 with all these problems but at 5.14, i had no choice if i wanted to use my iphone as a phone again.

hey guys, so is there anyone who can help me out here with SAM. My phone still drained out of battery even after following all the steps as I have outlined above. and moreover, now i can't activate it in itunes and hence can't sync stuff, but still can use Rogers and T-mobile SIMs on the phone.

If you have installed ultrasn0w and have ipad baseband, you can uninstall SAM and it will be activated thru your rogers carrier.

hey man, thanks for the help. well i did what you said. went into cydia and uninstalled SAM, but now i can't even get into my iphone. it comes to emergency call screen and itunes is still not activating it. i can still see rogers at the top left of the phone but now i can't get past the emergency call screen.

not sure what to do next? tiny umbrella? snowbreeze? redsnow?

well i just redsnowed my phone just for the heck of it. and now its all fixed. honestly, i'm not sure if i understand the method behind all this madness. but now i'm back to where i was before i installed SAM. the entire exercise was futile i guess. at least i have a working phone (minus the GPS) and can sync now. thanks for the help again.

If you experience battery drain, install SAM back and leave it that way.

well my battery drain is all fixed somehow, even though SAM is no longer installed. i guess this wasn't so futile after all. if now somehow the GPS will auto-fix one morning.

by the way, every time i end up redsnowing my iphone, my youtube application stops working. gives me a "cannot connect to youtube" and then after a few weeks it starts working. i can still play youtube videos through safari, but not through the app on homescreeen. any idea what's going on there? and how i could get it to work now rather than wait out for a few weeks?
