Any update on mobile data/3G battery drain issue?

I have SAM installed but my battery still drains very quickly every time I turn on 3G and mobile data - is there any fixes for this yet?

If your on t-mobile there is no need to have 3g on as t-mobiles 3g doesnt work on the iphone..

Sorry forgot to mention, I'm on o2. The phone is American (AT&T) and I don't have an AT&T sim.
