3g on 3.1.2 baseband 05.14.02 HELP!!

So i was previously running 4.0 but was getting annoyed because it was slow so wanted to downgrade. I've obviously done something wrong along the line because i can no longer get any signal. please please please help i'm tearing my hair out here

If you are trying to unlock that baseband cannot be unlocked. You must have updated to 4.1 at some point.

so is my iphone totally dead? i have shsh blobs saved for 4.0 i think.. will that make a difference. anything else you can suggest?

Only way to unlock that now is to go to 4.1 or 4.2.1 and update your baseband to the iPad one using redsnow 0.9.6rc8.

ok doing that now. so will it work after this. i have a tesco mobile sim on monthly rolling contract. i dont necessarily want jailbroken features just want it to work!

hi so ive updated to 4.2.1 and restored fatory settings. is there any other reason why my phone wont pick up the network?

Did you use redsnow yet?

i tried all manner of things. i couldnt get the phone to go in to dfu mode for redsnow. followed closely numerous sets of instructions...

You have to be able to get into dfu for redsnow to work. Maybe try a different computer.
