iPhone 3G re-jailbreak and unlock?
- I have iPhone 3G iOS 4.2.1, baseband 6.15 jaibroken with redsn0w_win_0.9.6rc8 and unlocked with ultrasnow, then installed SAM (I'm not sure if I did this part right.. it does say wildcard activated though).
- I'm experiencing some really bad battery drain, even when I don't use the phone. I bought an AT&T sim card on eBay in the hopes officially activating it will help.
- I rely on a carrier unlock to use it in New Zealand, and it's working great now but I'm hoping to help the battery life and read that not activating with a stock sim can be the cause of it.
- I clicked make my life easier in cydia and it says i have SHSH for 4.0, 4.0.1, 4.0.2, 4.1 and 4.2.1 (even though I jailbroke it for the first time on 4.2.1!?)
So my question is, how can I restore, activate with the AT&T sim and re-jailbreak and unlock? Would this even help the battery problems? I know I can't restore to stock firmware since I'm on BB6.15 so just wondering what I can do here.
Thanks in advance

Hi, I managed to fix the battery problem I have by fiddling around with the SAM settings a little and turning off spotlight search in the settings. I'm not sure why your Cydia's crashing.. I've done this to 5 or 6 different iPhone 3G's now and haven't had that problem! You might be better to ask in a different thread?
When I was looking for info on re-jailbreaking etc. (it might be easiest for you to just redo it?) I found out that on the 6.15 baseband you can't restore to stock 4.2.1 but you can to stock 4.1 or earlier if you have the SHSH saved. There are some really useful threads about it in this forum.
Good luck!
