Default iPhone 3GS stuck on connect to itunes

I have a iphone 3GS that i bought off ebay already unlocked and jailbroken. im not sure what firmware it was running but i think it was 4.0.1 Today the battery died and when i plugged it into charge it was stuck on the connect to itunes screen. i connect it to itunes and it says its in recovery mode. i know it has SHSHs on it for 3.1.2; 3.1.3; and then like 4.0 or something i dont remember. i think its the new bootrom. i was just wondering how to go about unlocking and jailbreaking again so that i can use it with my tmobile sim. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

"The iphone could not be restored. An unknown error occured. (3002)" I am using this guide ([How-To] Using tiny umbrella to update/downgrade/restore) and on the 4th step it says that if you get error 3002 to try putting it in DFU mode before restoring. well I tried, it didnt work, and now im pretty sure its still in DFU mode becuase the screen hasnt turned on since i tried it last night. im out of town on work and it sucks major *** without my phone so im spending all my free time on trying to fix it but im stuck.
