My First Post - Jailbreak and Unlock

Hi Guyz,

My first post here.
Thanks for this lovely forum and helping out the community.

So here I am with my question. Hoping for some suggestions from you experts:

I have iphone 4. Currently my version is 4.1
Modem Firmware: 02.10.04
How can I jailbreak and unlock it

Also when I connect to itunes it says a new iphone version 4.2 is available.
Should I update to that first?

Also I have one Iphone 3g
Version: 4.0.1
Modem Firmware: 05.13.04

Same question for above.

The ip4 can be jailbroken with limera1n but can not be unlocked
The 3g can be jailbroken with jailbreakme.com and unlocked once jb with ultrasn0w
