    Exclamation Need help! 2 questions!!

    Hey guys,

I have two questions. I just got a new iPhone 4. I don't have a sim card yet so how can I activate it. I want to a jailbreak my iPhone but I don't want to void my warranty. I searched Google and some people say it does but other say it doesn't. Some people say that if you restore they will never know. I asked the Apple rep and he said we will do a diagnostic review and we will know if you jailbreaked your iphone or not even if you restore it. PLZ HELP

I think the actual legalities range depending where you live. In the UK, I've left 3G, 3GS and 4 into apple for one reason or another, jailbroken and restored, never refused to help. Weighing up the chances of bricking your phone and benefits of jailbreaking I would work away

If you do a dfu restore of the firmware and set up as new they will not be able to tell. If you restore and then also restore the data from a backup on itunes they can tell because there is some Cydia data in the backup.

If you don't have blobs to go back you won't be able to downgrade. Kind of lottery what firmware your phone will be on when buying one. Redsn0w is going through beta testing, this will give you untethered jb in as little as a few days/weeks so hold tight!
