    Default 3G Iphone 1015 fault

    Hi Guys,
Im new to this site and Im sorry if this subject has been done to death but I have the following problem.
I use the I touch but the ither half keeps borrowing it for her games, so i thought ok ill get her an I phone so she could play facebook games when shes home via wireless network and shes still got it for mobile phone,so I won a 3g iphone of Fle bay and it was all working fine untill I plugged it in to Itunes to put some music on, (yes it had been jailbroken but with what program I dont know as the guy wont answer my emails lol) and itunes said it need to be updated, this is where my ignorance showed and i clicked update, every thing was going fine untill it wouldnt update and put the phone in to recovery mode, with error 1015 and needs to be restored. I have read through a few forums and tried a couple of things but I dont know what software version was in it or baseband,
i have tried different computers with the latest itunes and tried removing various files as sugested in some threads. so now im getting frustrated as i it keeps coming back to the same thing
could anyone suggest an answer please,
    cheers in advance

It seems that you're stuck in error 1015. you may try to download TinyUmbrella so that you can kick your way out of recovery and by then you may be able to check which firmware and baseband you already have but looking at the way you did when you hit update. you may have already upgraded to 4.2.1 OS. You may also try to restore to a Firmware just download it from this site iPod, iPhone and iPad Firmware Download

    Default Info

What do you want to get out of this,

    - do you just want the phone to work?
    - do you ant to jailbreak it?
    - do you need to unlock it?

the quick answer to 1015 error I have found is to use redsn0w to reboot in to dfu mode to allow jailbreak
