Iphone 4 [ Firmware 4.1 ] with a baseband 01.59.00 - how to unlock ? ?

My friend have a Iphone 4 [ Firmware 4.1 ] with a baseband 01.59.00 from UK that is hardcoded for Orange network.

Now he have moved to Malaysia and need to unlock it to use the local telco.

Can someone guide me how to unlock my friends phone. I read the forum, but I'm still confused.

The first thing you need to do:

1) Jailbreak your iPhone 4, with limera1n
You need can do it with a mac or windows.

2) Launch Cydia

3)Search for ultrasn0w and install it

4) Reboot your device

Will this method work for iphone 4 running 4.1 (8B117) Baseband 02.10.04 as well? It's a US phone but I'm now in the UK.

No. There is no unlock for 02.10.04 but there should be one soon.

Update :

The jailbreak and unlock worked like a charm !!
It took a while to detect the network after the unlock [ 5 minutes ] but a few reboot and setting of the network for automatic it did the trick.

All is well now.

Did u JB ur 4.1 with limera1n and used ultrasn0w for the 2.10.04 bb? I have mine JB but I'm just waiting for the unlock.
