Yes...a pain. Try not to. If it starts running out of batteries, toggle into airplane mode.
    And carry a charger.

Just select, boot tethered. Quick and easy.

New iPhones, and ones that never were connected to Cydia? These SHSH blobs are still something I'm trying to understand.. Tiny Umbrella can find saved blobs from Cydia, but if you've never been connected to Cydia you're SOL right?

^yep. If never jb'd, no Cydia, no SHSH blobs, no installing any prior iOS. You're stuck.

K thanks I think I got a handle on it now. I'm also relieved that I did my last two phones the only way I could have. Although 4.x on 3G...not so great.

A 3G??? You can load any 3.x version you desire. The baseband can't be changed but fw on 3G can . No SHSH blobs are required for 3G 3.x.

BTW: SHSH blobs are required for ALL 4.x and above iOS on ALL phones, plus all 3GS and all IP4 on any iOS version.

Gee thanks....Sometimes I think there is just too much information out there...Although one had a problem in the jailbreak with the proximity sensor and the program I used to get around it (CallLock} is for 4.x but the other...thanks man.

Okay so after a few hours of trying to jailbreak and unlock this thing I still have not done it. It just keeps telling me to connect to Itunes after its done. I tried to restart the whole process and restore the phone on Itunes but now Itunes is saying this error message:

The Iphone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1015).

So now what? I am using a mac and following that jailbreak guide we mentioned earlier in the thread. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a step that I am missing? I really would like to get this figured out! Thanks.

That error message is normal. There is a program called recboot I used to kick the phone out of recovery, hopeully it works for you. Search for a dl link.

Okay I will try recboot... hopefully it will work. Thanks.

Does anyone have any other suggestions just in case it doesn't?

It didn't work... just gave me some error message.

I am sick of messing with this... probably just gonna sell it on here if anyone is interested haha. Check for the post soon.
