You can only downgrade baseband if you have a 5.8 bootloader iPhone 3G. Use f0recast to find that out. 4.2.1 can be jailbroken just fine on a iPhone 3G. He is probably referring to the newer devices where it is a tethered jailbreak on 4.2.1
Tethered means you would have to run the jailbreak again after every reboot. Dont worry iPhone 3G doesnt have that issue. The 6.2 bootloader means no downgrading baseband for you right now.
It was on "Downloading jailbreak data" with an image of a hard drive - The phone started OK but would then not go into DFU mode, not being recognised by the computer so i tried it on another PC. The upgrade to 4.2.1 was successful and then using redsn0w on another computer was successful and updated the baseband.
Cydia how been stuck on "Updating sources" "Downloading packages" for around an hour now after adding the ultrasn0w repo.
Yeah it's in need -__- 12 hours work today been up for allmost 18 hours hut have to wait 2 hours for my ******* server host to wake up and send me the backup of my new server cause I raped it by accident in my tiredness haha
