iPhone 3GS - 4.2.1 - Tethered Jailbreak / Unlock

Hello everyone,

I just couldn't find the answer to this question.

If I jailbreak my iPhone 3GS (4.2.1) (tethered), and unlock it using the iPad baseband method, will I lose the unlock if I reboot the phone and not tether?

It other words, I don't care about jailbreak. I only care about unlock. They say if I reboot my phone, I'll "lose my jailbreak apps."

But will I lose the unlock, too? Any ideas?

If you install ultrasnow to unlock the phone will not boot (will stay at apple logo) until you boot tethered again.
